Last year, Kylie had wanted me to buy a birthday cake for her to celebrate in preschool. She only told me her wish seconds before I dropped her off in school. So I promised to her that I would let her celebrate her birthday with a birthday cake in school the next year.
A year later, Kylie had forgotten the promise I made to her. Two weeks before her birthday, I asked if she wanted a birthday cake to celebrate in preschool and she said “No”. I asked her why and she said she wanted to save the birthday cake money to buy other things.
Then a week later, I asked her again and she gave me the same answer. I then told her that this will be the only year she can celebrate with a birthday cake in preschool and moreover, this will be her last year in preschool. She will be graduating end of this year.
Then without hesitate a moment longer, she said “Yes”. She wanted Cake#2 to celebrate in preschool.
