Somewhere during my third trimester pregnancy, my kitchen faucet started to leak. At first it was few tiny drops of water a day and towards the end of my pregnancy, it started to leak like rain drops 24 hours a day. I could easily collect 20 liters of water and used them to wash clothes or dishes. Our water bill amount shoot up pretty high.
Hubby tried to change the faucets while I was pregnant but in the end, he chickened out. Why? This is because Chinese has this taboo of replacing, hacking or moving things in the house when there is a pregnant lady in the family. The replacement or movement may harm the baby in the mother’s womb. So, better to be save than sorry for life, hubby stopped having the idea of replacing the faucets.
And soon after my delivery, hubby to change the faucets to Kohler faucets but we were stopped by the confinement lady when hubby started the project. She said, we should not do anything also during the confinement period. I didn’t know confinement also have this “pantang larang”. So we waited for another month to pass and we finally replaced them 2 weeks ago. So relief and we couldn’t wait to see next month’s water bill to see how much water and money we could have save.
