While I was on my way back home, I spotted a smiling moon, smiling back at me when I gazed at the clear dark sky. It was before 8 p.m. I told hubby, who was driving the car at that time, to have a look at the moon above him. Upon reaching home, I told Kylie and my sister-in-law to look at the smiling moon too. Kylin is still too young to understand, I guessed, as she showed no sign of interest when I pointed the moon to her. Meanwhile, Kylie was giggling when she saw the moon and asked us, “Why got smiling face moon in the sky?”

Then Kylie sang this song …
I see the moon and the moon sees me.
God bless the moon and God bless me.
… and drew the smiling moon she saw.

The moon disappeared at around 9.30 pm, Malaysian time, when Kylie tried to catch a glimpse of the smiling moon once again before going to sleep. She stood on the road, gazing at the two “eyes” in the sky and waiting for the moon to reappear. Few minutes later, she saw the smiling moon again and said, “Good night smiling moon. Bye! Bye!” before one of the “eyes” disappeared behind the clouds.
